WHEN THE TURN UP GOES
WRONG
Over the years, every generation has had their sayings. In this one its, "Turn Up."  "Turn Up" is
a simple term for "Setting it off," "Getting it on and popping," and the list goes on.  Simply put,
"Turn Up," is the term used for getting loud and/or violent if necessary to let someone know they
have offended you.  The problem with the "Turn Up" however nowadays is it could potentially
get you expelled from school or worse, killed.

Though World Star Hip Hop may make the "Turn Up" seem fun, if you want to get that
scholarship to play ball or to study medicine, you must consider what your bad behavior can
cost you.

Below are some great ways to help you "Turn Down" so you won't find yourself in trouble.

WHEN THE TEACHER IS RUDE TO YOU
Without a doubt, there are times I wanted to just walk out of class because a teacher was being
rude.  The best thing you can do in this situation is count to 10.  Stop doing whatever the
teacher is accusing you of doing and finally share it with your parent or guardian. If you feel
your teacher is singling you out or picking on you, by telling your mother or father, you can stop
it early.

FIGHTING IN PUBLIC OR IN SCHOOL
This is a very serious offense and could get you a ticket ranging from $150 - $500.  The police
will write you a ticket citing you for "Disturbing the Peace."  It may seem fun to have a lot of kids
around you screaming, but it's not so fun when you are standing alone before a judge and your
mom threatening your life.  This can go on your record and when people pull your background
for a job, they will see it.  Think twice before you swing.

INSTAGRAM FLEXING
Did you know getting into it with someone online can be called "cyber bullying"?  That's right.  If
someone really wanted to, they could get legal permission to pull your posts and use them
against you in a court of law if someone files harassment charges against you or if you are the
focus of an investigation.  Though you want to let everyone know you are tough, leaving a
digital footprint isn't so smart.  Don't threaten ANYONE ONLINE for any reason.

FACEBOOK FLOSSING
I don't know, but some people have a undeniable urge to post all their new shoes, stacks of
money or their new jewelry online.  Not everyone is happy when you have a lot, so be careful
about putting your business online.

TURN DOWN FOR WHAT?
"Turn down" so you won't destroy your future. I know sometimes moms and dads can really test
your patience, but they are the people who are responsible for giving you life.   Don't be rude
and talk to them crazy just because you had a bad day.  They are due respect, even if they
don't seem cool to you.

OFFICERS OF THE LAW
This is perhaps the most important tip because it could be the difference between life and
death.  Obeying the commands of an officer is critical, even if you feel he is picking on you.
Make sure you make no sudden movements, or put your hands in your pocket.  Unfortunately,
in this day and age, officers who once protected and served are now shooting young people in
the street.  Don't let the next victim be you.
